Vegetables are low in fat and calories, a good source of dietary fiber and provide us with extra energy. All these features help control weight effectively. Being low in calories enables us to eat lots of vegetables without consuming excess energy, the high fiber content also helps fill the stomach faster limiting the total amount of food consumed. The presence of many vitamins and other chemicals in vegetables supply the body with nutrients necessary to boost energy production within the muscle cells. This give us a natural feeling of vitality and the energy to become more active helping to burn more energy each day.

Vegetables are also low in sodium so they help reduce water gains. Sodium is present in virtually all processed foods, it causes the body to hold water within the interstitial areas of the body. It has been estimated that many average people may be holding up to 5 pounds of additional water caused from a high intake of sodium. Any reduction in sodium intake will help lose water weight and if we eat more vegetables our sodium intake naturally lowers.

Swordplay – The Wii remote is your sword and you have to prove your skills with your “blade.” LucusArts, I hope you’re taking notes.

Wakeboarding – Use the Wii remote to pull off tricks as you jump the wake behind a speedboat. It takes the least advantage of the MotionPlus capabilities, but it is a lot of fun to land some impressive tricks in succession.

Frisbee – Swing the Wiimote like you’re throwing a Frisbee, and have your Mii’s dog catch it. The closer to the target that your dog catches the Frisbee, the more points you get. Easily the best substitute to owning a real dog since “Nintendogs” was released.

Archery – Aim with the nunchuck and pull the bow back with the Wii remote. This is one of the most challenging games in the package, as it requires a consistent degree of accuracy in the face of outside factors, like the wind. Look for this in the next “Zelda” game.

Basketball – Hit the court in a three-point shoot-out using the Wii remote as your basketball. This game is ideal for anyone that’s ever spent time at the bowling lanes on the arcade basket machine, instead of actually bowling.

hey everybody, I had my first DNF this weekend at Gulf Coast due to not being able to keep anything down.
Basically, I tried to swallow a salt stick pill, and ended up hacking it up, then every subsequent pill. I took a gamble and tried Hammer Heed and Sustained Energy in a concentrated bottle. Aside from tasting like ass, I couldn’t keep that down either, nor did I feel confident that it would provide enough fuel for me.
can anybody speak for Hammer products ? Are they a good product ?
I might just have to go back to Infinit, but after having bubble guts for the whole duration of IMFL, I’m not confident with them either.
Can anybody shed light on what I’m doing wrong ?

Here was my race day nutrition schedule:
pre-race

2 waffles with syrup 2.5 hours before start
1 carbboom gel packet with water 30 minutes before start

bike
2 24 oz insulated bottles
200 calories of Heed (50 grams carbs)
686 calories of Sustained Energy (146 grams carbs)
82 calories of Base Performance Base Amino

the plan was to sip from the concentrated bottle every 15 minutes and chug water to dilute it.

I’m 5’11, 177 lbs, I have Crohn’s Disease, but it is managing well enough.

If I need to add more info, let me know. Fire away !

A positive state of mind engendering a sense of well being that enables a person to function effectively within society. Individuals who have good mental health are well-adjusted to society, are able to relate well to others, and basically feel satisfied with themselves and their role in society.

Breakdown of mental health is a major problem in Western societies: it has been estimated that at least one in four adults will suffer from some form of mental disorder, such as depression, during their life. Many physicians and psychologists believe that individuals are physical, mental, and spiritual beings and that these aspects are interrelated. Consequently, mental health is not possible without both physical and spiritual health.

Although there is no clear cause-and-effect relationship between exercise and mental health, aerobic exercise can improve self-esteem, lessen anxiety, and relieve depression. Exercise can act as a form of meditation, changing the state of consciousness and providing a distraction from stressful situations. Many doctors believe that exercise improves mental health and prescribe exercise to relieve depression and anxiety. Walking is the most frequently prescribed exercise, followed by swimming, bicycling, strength training, and running.
