Go the pills!!  Drinking coffee makes my guts hurt before a race.  Pills were the goods.  Felt like a druggo but hey, they’re only caffiene tablets!  Plus i used to take them when i was studying to keep me awake and alert.  Seemed to work well, I think.  I have a degree anyway!
Yeh go the pills in my opinion.  You can buy them over the counter.

I say otherwise.  A coffee in the morning followed by exercise has heaps of research showing it markedly increases metabolism.  I’ve never heard of coffee being anything but something that helps increase metabolism.  Maybe if you had huuuuuuge late’s you might put on weight with all the milk!

The problem with so many of these caffeine delivery systems is that they come wrapped up in sugar (or fake sugar). I prefer getting my energy without actually having to ingest something, you know? Like the Spot-On Energy patch

One look at a line at the local Starbucks in the morning and you don’t need to be convinced of the huge amount of coffee consumption in the U.S. The National Coffee Association found in 2000 that 54% of the U.S. adult population drinks coffee daily. Guess there’s nothing like the first double espresso in the morning to clear the cobwebs from our heads so we can face the day.

Caffeine makes people more alert, less drowsy, and improves coordination. Combined with certain pain relievers or medicines for treating migraine headache, caffeine makes those drugs work more quickly and effectively. Caffeine alone can also help relieve headaches. Antihistamines are sometimes combined with caffeine to counteract the drowsiness that those drugs cause. Caffeine is also sometimes used to treat other conditions, including breathing problems in newborns and in young babies after surgery
